Hualien: Abandoned Military Buildings

Where: Hualien County -- Highway 11 -- 6.5km marker [Google Maps]

 

 

 

How to Get There:

On Highway 11, near the 6.5km marker you'll see two parallel roads on the west side of the highway. Take the road to the left (scooter/bike/walking) to go up to the abandoned military buildings. (The road to the right leads down to some coastal B&Bs).

Public Transport:

1. Hualien Bus: 1127, 1128, 1140, 1145. Departs from Hualien Train Station. Exit at 花蓮溪橋 (Huālián xī qiáo) [Google Maps]. Walk NE along Highway 11 for 700m/10 minutes.
2. Diing Dong Bus: 8119. Departs from Hualien Train Station. Exit at 花蓮溪橋 (Huālián xī qiáo) [Google Maps]. Walk NE along Highway 11 for 700m/10 minutes.
