Honesty in reporting

Poor guy; all he wants is to get back to the city, enjoy a latte at Starbucks, and not have to worry about bugs flying in his mouth.

Toxin-free since 1993

A few of my American friends have this idea that Taiwan is some kind of third-world nation; therefore, they worry about the country's food and beverage hygiene standards.

I hope this puts their minds at ease.

Macau, here I come!

Wow, I won $400 in the latest Taiwan receipt lottery. Don't get too excited; that's only about $12 US.

I'm not sure if winning testifies to my luck, or if it's an indication that I shop at 7-11 and Family Mart too much.

Send him this Father's Day greeting
from half-way around the world
(August 8 is Father's Day in Taiwan).

Belated: Saturday Night Dive

I was invited by some students to go to what they called an "American bar." Well, actually, they were right: The drink/appetizer menu was in English as well as Chinese; the ambiance was definitely American; and the live band, though Taiwanese, played popular American songs.

Here's is a slideshow from Flickr. I also plan to post a video on MySpace TV (I'll update this post when that happens).

Belated: Photos from Tiger Head Mountain

A couple of weekends ago I took a day trip to a local green area called Tiger Head Mountain (虎頭山). I'm finally getting around to posting the photos.

This is the first time I've used Flickr, so I hope this works. Please send me a message if it doesn't work for you.
